Meetings

Student and parent strategy sessions, junior and senior year, plus check-ins in between. Fall Meetings - Junior year. Prior-year report card review, testing , extracurriculars, and more Spring Meetings - Junior year. Semester report card review, testing, course selection, and summer plans. Senior year kick-off - June after junior year. School-list planning, application strategy, and prep for the senior application cycle.

Webinars

Orientation, parent tips. Annual orientation - August. What the year holds and the college milestones to reach. Parent Tips - throughout your time with us we offer webinars for parents designed to keep you informed and provide you with tips for navigating this exciting time with your student.

Standardized Testing

Guidance on testing as a student begins taking the actual tests Score review - guidance on the score relative to a student's college list Re-taking tests - advice on taking tests based on composite or section scores based on a student's school list or major

Spring Junior Year

We begin the application process in the spring to make meaningful progress ahead of summer before senior year. Common App Set-up - Hands on work to set up the account and get demographic and academic information squared away. STARS - many schools now require students to input their own transcripts into the STARS system. We ensure everything is entered accurately to avoid problems later. Resume - finalizing a student's activities, awards, honors, etc on their resume so that we can use to complete the Common App Activities Section. Essay Development - we begin to process of brainstorming, outlining and writing the Common App personal statement and some common supplemental essays

Senior Year

Full application support - essays, review, office hours, interviews, and parent updates. Essay support - Idea brainstorming, feedback, and review. Application review - A full review before submission, with in-office submission help during office hours. Office hours - Posted times to drop in for questions, application help, or focused work time. College portals - Help setting up college portals during office-hour sessions. Student check-ins - Progress check-ins during office hours or by text, as needed. Deferral guidance - Help completing deferral-notice requirements during office hours. Interview prep - Up to three one-hour sessions for students applying to schools with interviews. Parent communication - Regular opportunities for parents to stay current with the process.
