Curriculum
We prepare students for college and productive, fulfilled lives. Our intentional academic program encourages intellectual growth, creative development, and personal responsibility in every student. Our curriculum is designed for and tailored to our student body and it's changing needs and interests. You can expand your knowledge on a subject while also finding and exploring new passions.
Programming
Seasonal activities are always a huge hit, so expect to carve pumpkins, build gingerbread houses, and hunt for Easter eggs! Clubs and service programs are also available for students as well as athletic programs.
Activity/Sports Requirements
You must participate in an afternoon activity which could be a sport or anither activity or all 4 years to graduate.

Seated Meals
As a part of the Chatham Hall community, you'll also gather weekly in Yardley Dining Hall with your peers, Advisors, and teachers for two seated meals each week: an Advisory lunch and a rotating lunch at which you’ll be matched with a variety of students and faculty members to make new friends and have great conversation.
Study Hall
In addition to the Academic Support program, all students participate in Study Hall from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays. New students also participate in Daytime Study Hall until they have demonstrated the needed level of time management required to handle the workload of a Chatham Hall student.
Saturday Programming
Off campus, there’s even more to do. The School regularly offers recreational trips such as skiing at Wintergreen Resort, swimming and boating at Smith Mountain Lake, taking in the cuisine of a great restaurant in Greensboro, and bowling or laser tag in Lynchburg. Perhaps shopping, the movies, or dinner out in Danville, Lynchburg, or Durham are more your speed? Trips to museums, concerts, plays, musicals, and festivals in any number of nearby cities are also popular options. Excursions to places like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Asheville, NC, are great opportunities to tap into the tremendous history and culture of the region.
Residential Life
Our three dorms offer a variety of unique rooms and configurations. There are a range of rooms, including singles and doubles, so you can find what's comfortable for you. All of our first year students and new girls have roommates, and we take great care to ensure that you are matched with someone compatible. All of our dorms are centrally located, and connect to routes to the dining hall, Health Care Center, student commons and kitchen, and library without even needing to go outside.
