Curriculum: Students can choose from 172 courses, including 16 honors courses and 32 AP, Post AP, and Advanced Topics courses.  Due to the school’s location by the sea, they offer 8 courses in Marine Science, which most students choose to take.  Curriculum functions on a trimester system with 75-minute class periods and 4 periods per day.  During a senior’s last trimester, they are allowed to drop classes to pursue a senior project which they then present before graduation.  Students in good academic standing may plan an independent study with a faculty member and submit a proposal for approval.

Sports/Activity Requirements: There are 26 interscholastic sports and 62 interscholastic teams. Every student is required to participate in an after-school activity for all three seasons, and two of the three seasons must be a team offering. Students may also choose to participate in Seawolf Sessions, where they spend three weeks at a time learning three new activities that they have no prior experience with. Tabor Academy is known for having one of the elite sailing programs in the nation.

Religious Affiliation: Non-denominational, but students are required to gather in the Chapel every Monday for speeches from the senior class and faculty.

Dress Code: During the academic day, students are required to wear either pants, skirts and dresses, or shirts and blouses. In September and May, bermuda length shorts are acceptable. Skirts and dresses must be at a finger length from the kneecap. Shirts, blouses, and dresses must cover the majority of the shoulder, or if not should be worn with a sweater. School day dress prohibits denim, polo shirts and t-shirts, sweatshirts, and athletic sneakers. On days when there is Chapel or a special occasion, students must wear formal dress. Formal dress requires wearing a blazer and tie, a dress with a sweater/blazer, or clothing that is considered business or professional attire. Casual dress can be worn during Saturday programs, including t-shirts, sweatshirts, athletic shorts, sweatpants, leggings, jeans, sandals and sneakers.

Seated Meals: No seated meals.

Study Hall: Required study hall from 8:15-10pm.

Saturday Programming: On certain weekends, Tabor Academy will have a Saturday School Day from 9:30-11:30am. A Saturday School Day may consist of doing community service, learning new skills like cooking, community-building events and activities, or taking workshops on college admissions and essay-writing help.

Residential Life: Every weekend there are typically 18 weekend activities for students to choose from. Off-campus activities include the trampoline park, driving range, movies and so much more. The school provides shuttles to Providence, Boston, and Newport on Sundays. On-campus during the weekends, students can participate in trivia night, dodgeball tournaments, open skate, s’mores at the fire pits, and faculty open houses with food and games. Student activities also coordinate food trucks, hypnotists, comedians, and musical performances to come to campus. Students may also join clubs, such as baking clubs, the school’s magazine, special olympics, poetry club, peer tutors, and so much more.
